Rhythmic Gymnasts Support Foundation
Rhythmic Gymnasts Support Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based in Houston, TX. Its primary goal is to provide assistance and support to young aspiring rhythmic gymnasts and to the rhythmic gymnastics clubs.
What is Rhythmic Gymnastics:
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a beautiful sport; in 1984 it became an Olympic sport. Rhythmic gymnasts perform on the carpet with different apparatuses: rope, ball, clubs, hoop, and ribbon. The rhythmic routine is a combination of gymnastics, dance, and apparatus handling. Rhythmic gymnasts (like athletes in any Olympic sport), must train for many years to reach mastery, must be committed and dedicated to the sport. This specific sport requires a gymnast to be extremely flexible, very strong, and have excellent coordination and fine motor skills.
Rhythmic gymnastics is not as popular in the US as artistic gymnastics; however, the number of children participating in this sport and the number of rhythmic gymnastics clubs has been growing in recent years. We are hoping to promote rhythmic gymnastics in the community and raise awareness and much-needed support for this sport and for the athletes.
